It was 1832,
Sally lives in the country,
She had a lover it true,
But John lived in the city.
They arranged to meet up quietly,
At the old inn harbour,
But as far as the eye could see,
John was in for a ghastly treat.
He reaches the old inn harbour,
Waiting for Sally patiently,
A man in a Black suit
Arrested him and John was gone!
Sally was forbidden to go to the city,
But caught a bus and went anyway,
She reached his house and looked so pretty,
But was told he was getting killed .
She ran to the murder scene,
Confused she was so very,
She felt they were being so mean,
So she wept on the way
By the time she got there,
His head was gone,
So she took a knife chopped of her hair
And plunged right through her heart.
She fell to the ground instantly,
With blood from corner to corner
The last word she heard was that evil man was alive.

A brilliant story behind this ballad! I love it. Think really carefully about your rhymes though, particularly in stanza 3.
