The Sea.
The sea is a clashing drum,
The sea is a screaming mum,
The sea is glistening glass,
The sea is a shouting class,
The sea was an angry clown,
Until it got turned upside down,
The sea is a cheerful chum,
The sea is a happy mum.

The Playground
Crash, bang and splat,
The small guy loses his hat,
Thud, thump and pting,
The ball hits the post,
A fling,
Whiz, scrape and crack,
The big guy gives a whack,
The gates go ching-chang,
The children laugh and chuckle,
Ahhh the playground.
Kinkaku.
The sleeping river,
The trees wave all night long,
Kinkaku stands strong.

I really like the metaphors you use in your first poem, particularly the way you extend the clown metaphor: 'Until it got turned upside down'. Great to see you using rhyme as well.
